South Park Elementary Center third and fourth grade students participated in a reading program called “A Holiday Link to Reading” throughout the month of December. For every ten minutes the students read outside of school, they earned one link. The students’ goal was to connect the links from the third and fourth grade wings of the elementary center.

The students connected the links on Wednesday, December 20 by reading for 16,808 minutes outside of school. That’s nearly 12 days!

To celebrate their success, students got to pie several teachers and their principal on December 21. Mrs. Constantin, Mr. Quast, Mr. Legg, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Baumgardner, Mr. Trozzi and Dr. Furman volunteered to take a pie (or two) in the face.

Congratulations third and fourth graders! Keep reading!
