At its regular meeting on Thursday, October 13, 2022, the South Park School District Board of Directors approved the hiring of Mr. TJ Trozzi as the assistant principal at South Park Elementary Center. Mr. Trozzi will officially assume his administrative position at the elementary center on Monday, October 17.
Mr. Trozzi first joined the South Park School District as a permanent substitute teacher in August 2010. In 2015, Mr. Trozzi served as the fourth grade learning support teacher – a position he held until becoming a K-4 Autistic support teacher in 2018. Mr. Trozzi has also served on the elementary student assistance program team and was the school’s special education team leader. Mr. Trozzi’s professional experience also includes two school years as a teacher at Propel Charter School on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
Mr. Trozzi graduated from Duquesne University in 2010 with a degree in elementary education. He earned a master’s degree in K-12 school administration from Duquesne University in 2015 and is currently working on a second master’s degree in special education.
Mr. Trozzi will join the school’s administration team which includes Mrs. Kelli Dellarose, who became the K-4 principal in September 2022.
“Since joining South Park Elementary Center, I have seen firsthand the tremendous difference Mr. Trozzi makes in the lives of his students every single day,” Mrs. Dellarose said. “His passion for education and his dedication to South Park perfectly positioned him for the assistant principal position.”
