2026 School Board Meetings

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Act 84 of 1986, that the Board of Directors of the South Park School District will hold its meetings as follows:

Regular Board Meetings will be held the second Thursday of each month, with the exception of July, in which no meeting is scheduled. All meetings will commence at 6:30 p.m., prevailing time, and will be held in the cafeteria at South Park High School, 2005 Eagle Ridge Drive, South Park, PA 15129.

The South Park School District Board of Directors will hold its Reorganization/Regular Meeting on Thursday, December 10, 2026. The Reorganization Meeting will commence at 6:30 p.m., prevailing time, with the Regular Meeting to follow immediately after in the Cafeteria at South Park High School, 2005 Eagle Ridge Drive, South Park, PA 15129.

SPEC House System Launches

From South Park Elementary Center Principal Mrs. Dellarose:

We are excited to announce that our school will be implementing a program called the House System this year. This system was created by the Ron Clark Academy (RCA), and it has a proven track record of creating a positive school climate and culture that is embraced by students, staff, and families. We want our students to look forward to coming to school each day, and schools around the world that have implemented the program have reported many positive outcomes, such as a decrease in discipline referrals, more positive relationships among peers and staff, better school attendance, and improvements in academic performance. This is because the system encourages students to take ownership of their learning and behavior while working together to achieve common goals.

A key element of the House System is the way that it increases students’ motivation to succeed in school by fostering a sense of belonging among all students and staff, and parents often report feeling more connected to the school community as well. To achieve this, each student will be a part of one of 8 houses and will have the opportunity to participate in house-specific events and activities throughout the year. (Parents will have some opportunities to participate, too!) By being a part of a house, every child has a smaller group within the larger school community. In other words, every student will have “a crew and a cause.” Additionally, students will have the opportunity to take on leadership roles within their houses, such as serving as heads of house, heads of committees, or organizers of house events.

Throughout the school year, students will have the opportunity to receive points for their houses. Points are awarded for going above and beyond expectations in areas such as academic achievement, character, school spirit, and uplifting others. While points are not the primary purpose of this program, when students work together to earn points for their houses, they celebrate, support, and encourage one another to achieve excellence. The house who earns the most points at the end of the year will be named the House Champions!

We are confident that the RCA House System will be a valuable addition to our school community, and we look forward to seeing its positive impact on our students. Thank you for your support, and we can’t wait to see the effect this system will have on our students.

Eagle Stadium Gameday Reminders

Eagles Fans:

Friday Night Football returns to South Park as the Eagles host South Allegheny on Friday, September 19 at 7 p.m. Here’s what you need to know before the home football season kicks off:

Gates open at 6 p.m. Parking is available at the top stadium lot off Ridge Road. Overflow parking is available at South Park High School. The fieldhouse parking lot is for handicap parking only.

Elementary- and middle school-aged students must be accompanied into the stadium by an adult, and that adult must remain with them for the entirety of the game.

No outside sports gear may be brought into Eagle Stadium. This includes footballs, soccer balls, and basketballs.

Individual game tickets will be available to purchase at the gate. Prices are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.

We’re looking forward to seeing you in your blue and white on Friday nights at Eagle Stadium this fall.

K-8 Suggested Supply Lists Posted

SPEC and SPMS teachers have prepared grade-level suggested supply lists for the 2025-2026 school year. These school supplies are recommended, not required. If you have any questions or need assistance with school supplies, we encourage you to contact your child’s school office or school counselor.

High school teachers will review suggested supplies for their courses at the start of the school year.

2025-2026 Athletic Passes Now On Sale

Get in the game, and get ready to cheer on the Eagles during the 2025-2026 school year. We're proud to offer high school athletic passes for the 25-26 seasons. Full-season adult and student passes are now on sale by clicking here. All high school athletic pass sales will take place online. Passes will not be sold in person or on event dates or at events. All sales will be online. To purchase your pass online, complete the online form. You will then be redirected to PayPal to submit your payment. You must submit your payment through PayPal; otherwise, your pass will not be processed.

Athletic passes may be used for all home, high-school sporting events through the 2025-2026 school year. They cannot be used for WPIAL or PIAA playoff games or other non-athletic school events. The passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

The cost of 2025-2026 athletic passes is:

Adult Full-Year Pass (Fall, Winter, and Spring Seasons) - $50.00

Student Full-Year Pass (Fall, Winter, and Spring Seasons) - $30.00

South Park Township Senior Citizens (with Proof of Residency and Age 62 or Older) - FREE

Passes are also available for South Park Township Senior Citizens (Ages 62+) for free with proof of residency. Senior citizens who provide proof of age and residency do not need to fill out the form below and can arrive during the designated pickup times listed below.

After completing your online purchase, you will be able to pick up your athletic pass at the South Park High School athletic office (Door 17 in the back of the building).

Passes purchased by Wednesday, August 6 will be available for pick-up from Monday, August 11 through Thursday, August 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4-6 p.m.

Passes purchased by Wednesday, August 13 will be available for pick-up from Monday, August 18 through Thursday, August 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Passes purchased after August 13 will be available during school hours.

Student passes may also be picked up in the athletic office during school hours beginning on Tuesday, August 26.
If you are unable to pick up your pass on the scheduled dates, please contact the high school athletic office at (412) 655-3111, extension 2050 to arrange another pick-up time.

Athletic passes are accepted at the door/gate for the following home high school sports events:

FALL: Football, Girls’/Boys’ Soccer, Girls’ Volleyball

WINTER: Girls’/Boys’ Basketball

(If a sport is not listed above, that means admission is not/will not be charged for those sports in 2025-2026.)

Individual game tickets will continue to be available at the doors/gates on game days. Prices are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.

South Park Alumna Named New SPEC Assistant Principal

The South Park School District Board of Directors unanimously approved the hiring of Mrs. Katelyn Vogel as the new assistant principal at South Park Elementary Center at a special meeting on Thursday, July 10. Vogel, a South Park resident, brings more than 15 years of K-12 experience – with nearly 10 years of experience as a school administrator – to the South Park School District.

Vogel comes to the South Park School District from the Bethlehem-Center School District in southern Washington County. She most recently served as the district’s director of student support. At Beth-Center, Vogel also served as an administrator for sixth through eighth grades. Vogel worked for more than a decade at the South Allegheny School District, serving in a number of classroom and administrator roles in the district. She started at South Allegheny as a health/physical education teacher before becoming an assistant principal and administrator at the elementary and middle school levels.

Vogel graduated from South Park High School in 2006 and received the Future Teacher Award from the South Park Education Association her senior year. She earned her bachelor’s degree of science in health and physical education with a minor in dance from Slippery Rock University in 2010. She also holds a master’s degree in school administration from California University of Pennsylvania.

Vogel will begin her role at South Park in late-July. She replaces Mr. TJ Trozzi who left the South Park School District in June to pursue an opportunity in a school district closer to his home.

Athletic Physicals for 2025-26 Being Accepted

The South Park Athletic Department is accepting athletic physicals for the 2025-26 school year. Any students participating in any school district sponsored sport in grades 7 through 12, must have a physical completed. Physicals dated on or after May 1st, 2025 are accepted for the entire 2025-26 school year.

Below are the links to register your initial physical and papers for the physician to fill out. NO PAPER COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED TO THE SCHOOL, and all physicals MUST BE REGISTERED ONLINE. Football Game Parking

FOR ALL HOME VARSITY FOOTBALL GAMES: Beginning this season, only marching band members, football players, marching band chaperones, and volunteer workers may park at South Park High School. All other fans are to park in the upper stadium parking lot off Ridge Road (2178 Ridge Road). Both upper gates will be open. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Handicap accessible parking will still be available in the lower fieldhouse parking lot.
