SPHS PowerSchool Attendance Update

South Park High School Families:

As we continue to advance our technology at the high school, we wanted to let you know of a recently-added PowerSchool feature that will help streamline our collective processes in regards to attendance.

Now, parents have the ability to record attendance and early dismissals directly in PowerSchool on their desktop computer. Upon logging in to your parent account, you will see an option labeled “Attendance Monitor” within the left “Navigation” panel:

After clicking on “Attendance Monitor” you will go into the “Report Attendance” tab and then click the “Report New Attendance” button:

To complete the process, you will select the reason and fill out any additional information before submitting:

Following this process will be most beneficial to our attendance personnel. While we highly recommend that all guardians set up an account in PowerSchool and follow the process listed above, we understand that additional options may be needed. That is why we are continuing to offer the online forms for absences and late arrivals, and will also accept written excuses sent in with the student when they return to school. If a doctor’s excuse is required, it must be emailed to [email protected].

Please note that this new feature is only available in the desktop version of PowerSchool – not the mobile app – and is only available at the high school. If you also have children at the middle school or elementary center, you will continue utilizing the current process at either school.
