South Park Families:
Unlike in previous school years, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that breakfast and lunch meals will not be free for all students in the 2022-2023 school year. Families who believe they may be eligible for free and reduced-price school meals and do not want to be charged at the beginning of the school year are encouraged to fill out a 2022-2023 free and reduced-price meal application and return it to the school office as soon as possible. The application is available online by clicking here or in any school office. You may also apply online by visiting the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services website at www.compass.state.pa.us.
If you have received a notice of direct certification letter for free meals, you do not need to complete the application. But do let the food services department know if any children in your household are not listed on the notice of direct certification letter you received.
Breakfast in all three schools will cost $1.50. Lunch at South Park High School and South Park Middle School will cost $2.70. Lunch at South Park Elementary Center will cost $2.45. The reduced price for breakfast is $.30 and for lunch is $.40.
Just like in the past, families can add funds to their child’s/children’s account(s) by sending cash or a check made payable to South Park School District with your child to school. You can also add funds to your child’s/children’s account(s) by utilizing the MySchoolAccount site. If you have not created an account or if you need to link new students to your account, you will need your child’s student ID. (Student IDs are available by contacting your child’s school office.) Click here for some frequently asked questions about MySchoolAccount. (Note: MySchoolAccount charges a fee for credit card payments.)
Lunch menus for the start of the year will be available in the coming weeks. When they are posted, families will receive an email.
If you have questions, please contact food services director Brandon Smoker by calling (412) 655-4189 or by emailing [email protected].
