The 80th Commencement of South Park High School was held on Friday, June 8. 178 members of the Class of 2018 received their diplomas at the ceremony in the South Park High School gymnasium.
45 members of the Class of 2018 graduated with high honors (GPA of 3.6 and above).
61 members of the Class of 2018 graduated with honors (GPA of 3.0 to 3.59).
The Class of 2018 Valedictorian was Eric Carr who spoke to his classmates about the importance of hard work during the next chapters of their lives.
“If you put effort into your dreams and aspirations, you can accomplish not only your goals, but you can also reach your maximum potential,” said Carr.
The Class of 2018 Salutatorian was Molly Saylor who reflected on the lasting memories made during the Class of 2018’s time at South Park.
“I don’t think many other schools are lucky enough to have a climate like this—one where our teachers are able to form relationships beyond the curriculum,” said Saylor. “It is because of these relationships that we have a strong foundation to rely on.”
