South Park Families:

This weekend, South Park School District administrators and the South Park Township Police Department were alerted to an alleged threat of gun violence made by a South Park Middle School student at a non-district event held over the weekend. Additionally, a subsequent social media post was shared with district administrators and township police. Following its thorough investigation, the South Park Township Police Department has determined it to be a non-credible threat. Classes will be held as scheduled in all district schools on Monday, September 20, 2021. The South Park Township Police Department will have an increased presence at South Park Middle School tomorrow to ease any concerns. We will not share information about the student or potential disciplinary action due to confidentiality laws.

The South Park School District takes every threat seriously, as the safety and well-being of our students and staff are always our first priority. Ensuring safe and secure learning environments is a cooperative effort between school staff and community members. We thank those who came forward to report the alleged threat to school administrators and police.

We extend our appreciation to the South Park Township Police Department for its response and investigation.
