As we continue to improve our educational delivery during this unprecedented time, we have been able to temporarily secure Chromebooks for the first and second grade students. Starting Wednesday, April 29, first and second grade content delivery will be done through Google Classroom. Instead of receiving materials through Class Dojo or email, the materials will be shared through Google Classroom. There are some steps that need to be taken in order for this to be successful. We will work with you and help every step of the way.
Chromebook Distribution
First, you are NOT required to take a Chromebook. If you already have a device that works for your child, and your child can access Google Classroom, then you do not need to pick up a Chromebook. Google Classroom can be accessed by visiting classroom.google.com.
Chromebook distribution will be Monday, April 27 from 8-10 a.m. and from 1-2 p.m. and Tuesday, April 28 8-10 a.m. and 1-2 p.m.
You can pick up the Chromebook during the listed times at the lower ticket window of Eagle Stadium. Please use the lower entrance to Eagle Stadium off Eagle Pride Lane on the South Park School District campus.
You will be required to submit a signed waiver stating that you are responsible for the Chromebook during the time you have it in your possession. There will be no insurance available during this time for these borrowed Chromebooks. Click here to download and print the waiver. Waivers will also be available at the distribution.
Google Classroom
You should visit this website that explains how to set up your Google Classroom for your child:
https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/6072460?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
Google Classroom can be accessed by visiting classroom.google.com.
The username will be your child’s email address which is [email protected]
The password will be your child’s lunch account/student number. If you cannot remember your child’s lunch account/student number, please contact your child’s teacher.
The classroom code will be distributed by your child’s teacher.
We want this to be an exciting opportunity for our students to be able to experience the wonders of using online resources for learning. There will be some obstacles along the way, but with patience and understanding, this will be a great way to continue to help our students grow academically.
If you have any questions, please contact me or your child’s teacher via email.
