SPSD 2021-2022 COVID-19 Tracker

Active cases refer to individuals currently in the isolation period following a positive or presumed-positive case of COVID-19. These individuals are not currently cleared to return to school/work.

Inactive cases refer to individuals who have completed the COVID-19 isolation period and are cleared to return to work/school.

The number of active quarantines from school-related exposures is the number of students and staff currently quarantined after being identified as a close contact to a school-related case. The number of identified close contacts may be higher than this number as vaccinated individuals are not required to quarantine if asymptomatic.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health may recommend up to a 14-day suspension of in-person learning if 5% of students/staff in any building test positive in a 14-day period OR if there are three (3) simultaneous classroom/group outbreaks in a building. An outbreak is defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as transmission between two (2) or more students or students/staff teachers without other identified epidemiological links in three (3) or more classrooms and/or other core groups (teams, bands, etc.)
