The South Park School District was notified of two additional positive COVID-19 cases on Monday, November 16, 2020. Both are South Park High School students who were last in school on Thursday, November 12. Both are members of the South Park hockey team.

We are continuing to work with the Allegheny County Health Department and will adhere to all guidance and recommendations provided to us by public health officials.

As of now, no additional close contacts have been identified. However, if any are later identified, they will be notified by the district and/or the Allegheny County Health Department and begin quarantine.

Our facilities staff continues to thoroughly clean and disinfect all buildings including affected areas of the high school.

The individuals will not return to school until the isolation period has concluded.

South Park High School will continue to operate under a remote instructional model through Wednesday, November 25. South Park Elementary Center and South Park Middle School will continue to operate under a hybrid instructional model at this time.

The health and wellbeing of our students, faculty, staff and community are our primary concern. We will continue to monitor the situation and notify families and staff of any additional actions that may need to be taken.

This communication is being shared with all district families and staff as part of the procedures outlined in the district’s Health and Safety Plan approved by the Board of Directors on Tuesday, July 28.
